Anyone who is required to assist in project work. This course is aimed at those new to the project environment providing them with essentials on terminology, project stages and management.

A basic knowledge of computers.
OVERVIEW
Project Management is a skill that more and more people need to acquire and use in their jobs. This course is designed to get you up and running in defining a project’s scope, developing and resourcing the plan, identifying risks and managing the project. We provide you with an overview of MS Project and how it can be used to plan and manage your projects.
The course is highly interactive with activities and practice session designed to put your new skill into action throughout the course. You can workshop your own project as part of the course.
COURSE CONTENT
Define the Project
This is the essential stage in determining the projects overall objectives, what it will achieve, what it does not address, who the stakeholders are and what the deliverables will be.
Develop The Plan
Timelines, critical paths, resourcing, risks assessment and contingency planning are all fundamental project management skills. The course will provide you with some techniques to develop a plan to achieve the project’s objectives while adhering to its constraints such as time and cost.
Keeping On Track
Once the project moves from planning into action, you need to monitor its progress against the plan and report to all stakeholders on its progress. This includes managing costs, resources and project variations.
MS Project
Throughout the program we will provide you with an overview of the role MS Project can play in managing a project. This course does not provide hands on skill for MS Project but it will demonstrate how your Project Management knowledge will assist you in understanding how MS Project works.
