TARGET AUDIENCE & PURPOSE

Word Introduction Training is for people new to Word Processing and for self taught users wanting to enhance their knowledge. It is a pre-requisite for the Advanced Microsoft Word course.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course participants should be able to:

  • Create, edit and save documents
  • Change the appearance and layout of a document using formatting techniques
  • Create headers, footers and set page numbering
  • Preview and print documents
  • Use Spell Checker, Thesaurus, Find/Replace and AutoCorrect
  • Create and format tables

PREREQUISITES

Participants should already be competent in using a mouse and keyboard and have an understanding of Windows.

Using Basic Document Skills
Saving & Closing a Document, Creating a New Document, Opening an Existing Document, Navigate using the Mouse & Keyboard, Selecting Text, Creating a New Folder, Renaming an Existing

Working with Document Views
Switching Document Views, Changing Document Magnification, Displaying/Hiding the Rulers, Viewing/Hiding the Formatting Marks, Opening & Switch between Multiple Documents

Using Basic Text Editing
