Forrest Training Newsletter: Quarter 4 – August - November 2010

New Look and Feel

We all need a new image from time to time – so here we go!

With so many enhancements in the IT world we have now shifted our image to benefit from the digital revolution.

We often hear about the various social networking mediums such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Plaxo and Blogs. It is interesting to note who regularly communicate using them and if they are purely social or have they
crossed to being a business driver?

  • We want to know what you think about our new schedule format. At the same time keep an eye on
our website as it is going through a restructure.
  • Would you like to communicate with us via any of the social mediums?
  • What do you find interesting?
  • Do you have a suggestion on how we can improve /modify our training materials?
  • Do you dislike anything we do in delivering our training?
  • Tell us in 25 words or less and our most interesting response will receive a 2 day Microsoft course of their choice.

Microsoft Office 2010 is Real!

As a Microsoft learning partner, we are required to support all current platforms and to confirm the requirement we have Windows 7 and Office 2010 fully installed throughout our training centre.

Our first scheduled training delivery of Office 2010 will be in early August. The client is upgrading from Microsoft Windows XP and Office 2003. We have the relevant supporting materials so that all participants can go back to their offices and make effective use of many new added features of the various applications.

If you are considering an upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 why not give us a call so that we can discuss both options based on our knowledge of the programs.

We can guide you through the differences so you can
experience the benefits of the new features. To date many clients are voicing their acclaim for Windows 7 being quicker than all previous versions.

For all bookings made in August and September 2010 FORREST TRAINING
on Microsoft Word, Outlook and / or PowerPoint
courses, you receive 50% off the cost of the second
booking when the person attends the same course.

True Value of Training

With so many options available to develop the human resources – how do you evaluate the benefits of staff training?

With our courses being trainer driven and most training manuals developed including self-paced exercises to support the learning. We provide a cost-effective combination to meet the value proposition of clients.

Most organisations consider the Return on Investment (ROI) as the prime indicator in evaluating staff training. It is the role of human resources to promote the benefits to management of the holistic benefits to the organisation.

Attendance at training provides individuals with skills that usually create positive behavioural changes when returning to the job. Does training improve communication between staff and what is the impact on morale? Are there improvements in customer service and the retention of staff?

Obviously, these options are best considered before the dollar cost overrides the unseen significance.
